Our History
The
Friday AM Connection Club was established in 1993 by Rosa Chang.
With only 4 charter members, the Club knew the power of a referral. “I’ve
met a lot people over these past years and many continue to refer
business, even if they are no longer active in the Club,” says
Rosa. Many years later and still going strong,
the group is comprised of accomplished businesses offering a wide
variety of products and services. The Friday AM Connection Club
enjoys a diverse membership and welcomes new members at any time.
In 2002 the Friday AM Connection Club won the Fremont Chamber of Commerce Food Drive by contributing a total of 1,595 items. The drive that resulted in contributing the most amount of food items is the same drive that makes the Friday AM Connection Club one of the most successful Clubs in the Chamber. Their purpose is simple: to generate leads and referrals for our members. And they continue to deliver on this promise week after week. Dr. Frank Scorca of Scorca Chiropractic has been a member of the Club for over 3 years and continues to be an active participant due to the quality and quantity of leads he receives. “It’s also a great opportunity to think outside of yourself and learn about other local businesses and generate leads for them, too.” says Scorca. “The group is very warm and supportive. Beyond our weekly meetings, we meet for purely social reasons once or twice a year.”
Again in 2003 and 2004 the Friday AM Connection Club won the Annual Food Drive by donating hundreds of canned goods and other food items. Of course, the real winners are the children that benefit from these donations during a time when normally subsidized lunches from schools are not available due to the summer break.
The Friday AM Connection Club’s CAN-do attitude is the reason for its success and phenomenal growth. With 17 members in March 2004 the club has grown to 30 members in under six months. What’s the attraction of our club you ask? “The 7:30AM meeting time is great for my schedule as it doesn’t break up my day” says Brendon Whately of Dark Indigo. “I like the mix of people and feel there is synergy among us.” Whateley added. Eddie Washkin of What’s Happening says “I joined the group due to its size and the caliber of members.” The informal setting and quality of members is the attraction for Stephen Meade, VP of California Bank & Trust. “I’m very busy, so this is the only Chamber event I participate in and it’s well worth my time.”
